JOY IN CHRIST

In these hard times, we have a hope that goes beyond the things we can see around us. Jesus Christ not only died for our sins, but He rose from the grave and then ascended into heaven. He said: "In my Father's House are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go, I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there you may be also." We are like kids who have inherited a fortune. We are going through the hard times now, but we are filled with joy because of the inheritance we have in Jesus Christ.

LEARNING TO OBEY

When we turned to Jesus Christ, we were sorry for our sins. We asked forgiveness and determined to do an "about face" in our lives. Because of God's unconditional love, shown in the giving of Jesus Christ as the perfect sacrifice for ALL sins, God completely forgave us and forgot about our sins. This brought to us an unspeakable joy and a fullness of "glory" as we now experience God's approval and companionship. But, because God is also our Father, He is determined to "grow us up" and "make us holy". He is holy, and He wants us to be like Him. This means that we are in a life-long classroom of learning how to OBEY God and His WORD.

SHARING WITH OTHERS

Because God has now put His LOVE in our hearts, we share with others. First, and most important, we desire to share the GOSPEL, or "good news" that everyone can be forgiven and start a new life in Christ. Secondly, we also desire to help others in times of need. Whether it is listening to them during difficulties, or encouraging them in times of sickness, or helping to meet some emergency need, it gives us great joy to SHARE with others.
